Baybayin Pamagkulit Font by Nordenx Baybayin Pamagkulit Font by Nordenx
The Font

Download it here in DA: www.deviantart.com/download/24…

I create true type fonts (TTF) I called "Baybayin Modern" for use in modern art. The fonts are stylized modern composite of many examples from the past but the style is based primarily on my calligraphy work and handwriting. The font is calligraphic & artistic representations and the characters’ shapes, sizes and weights have been made uniform in order to present a neat and elegant printed appearance.

If used in your artwork, please include a credit and/or link back to either the blog ( nordenx.blogspot.com/ ) or my DA page.

About Kapampangan Script:

Súlat Kapampangan (a.k.a. pámagkulit or kulitan) is used for writing the Kapampangan language spoken by the people from the Pampanga province in the Philippines. Kapampangan is one of the major languages of the Philippines.

Kulitan differs slightly from Baybayin as it has been adapted solely for Kapampangan orthography. A different method of writing garlit (kudlit) diacritic marks and character ligatures & stacking were developed. Much of the character shapes originally were the same as Baybayin but through limited but continued use, Kulitan handwriting evolved to match a vertical direction of writing popularized by Kapampangan practitioners, scholars, artists, and academics.

The Style (Pamagkulit)

This font was inspired by handwriting samples from Súlat Kapampangan Siuálâ ding Meángûbié guru Michael Pangilinan.

Kapampangan orthography and Kulitan rules are different from Tagalog/Filipino spelling & pronunciation. Just like "o" and "e" vowels are conversions of diphthongs to monophthongs, the sound "Wa" (depending on the word & Kapampangan pronunciation or usage of the word or stress) can be either spelled using a range of combinations of the "UA", "UAA", "UuA", "UuAA", etc. (capital letters representing a character and lower case being garlit/kudlit markers). Similar complex vowel character & marker combinations occur when rendering the "Wo", "Wu", "Wi", "We", "Ya", "Yo", "Yu", "Yi", and "Ye" sounds.

Kulitan has strict rules when it comes to root words too. Kulitan has been developed uniquely for the Kapampangan language. I don't recommend using Kulitan Script for writing in Tagalog.

I don't know what the Kapampangan translation to the word "patawaran" is. And without proper diacritics I don't know how the exact pronunciation of "patawaran" would be in Kapampangan, whether it is "pa ta ua daan" or "pa ta ua dan". In any case, a direct transliteration may not be right, but if you insist...

Typed vertically, the keystrokes would be:

p
t
oa
dn
